You gotta do what you gotta do.

MV has begun to show an interest in drawing and frequently asks for my phone to

watch drawing videos to learn. The issue is that my phone freezes after some time, and

I have decided not to share my password with anyone since the last incident when

my phone ended up in the microwave. The Lord has helped me I have not given away

my password for nearly 3 years now.

This was somewhat frustrating for MV as he had to return to me multiple

times to get the password. At some point, he called me out and said, "Mummy, this is so

frustrating. Why does your phone do this?"

Then came the wise advice from little 4-year-old JO, who said, "MV, you gotta do

what you gotta do."

What that meant to him I didn’t even ask, but I assume it implied that you need to keep

working to prevent the phone from locking up or try to get your mom's password to avoid

constant frustration. I found this interesting, but is this statement truly correct?

I would say it depends.

When is this a correct statement-

When God has commanded it so- Deuteronomy 5:32

When it is in the will of God for you- 1 Peter2:15

When you are set to please the Lord- Hebrews13:21

When this is not a correct statement-

To fulfill the desires of the flesh- James 4:1-2

In total disobedience to the instructions of God- 1Samuel 15:11,24

For the love of the world and every thing in it- 1John2:15

Often, we receive advice like this from well-meaning friends and family. We hear phrases such as "heaven helps those who help themselves" and "little lies don't hurt." However, we are in the best position to filter such advice through the lenses of the word of God.

Friends, The word of God never fails, they will accomplish the purpose for which He has sent His word. Isaiah 55:10

I leave you with these verses-

“The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭19‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭NIV‬‬
