How dilated are you?

Motherhood is a gift . We get to partner with God in the process of a most amazing work of creation. Oh my Jesus! The journey starts with the excitement of carrying a seed no one may even see for the first four months. You are sharing a secret with the Most High, you begin to nurture, eat right, avoid stress, drink water, take supplements, then comes the swollen nose, change of shoe size, transformation of skin color- you may need to get a Mary Kay specialist to help on this one . Then the great day of birthing, the checking ,the pushing. This same process of change happens if we want to birth anything of great value.

We experience change , change and more changes during this season of life, but God is grooming us to expect and embrace these changes.

If we look closely at the account of child birth in the Bible , we see that God would have a certain purpose or assignment for the child.

Isaac - The son of promise

Moses- The Deliverer

Samson- The man with great strength

John the Baptist - The Forerunner

Jesus Christ- The Savior.

Their mothers received instructions or were led by God on how these children will fulfill purpose.

How do we expect and embrace these changes

Prepare- I like this quote from Abraham Lincoln, Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe. Preparation is key. On my first Journey to motherhood, I became depressed. I was restless, impatient and super irritated. I would cry the whole time, I was just sad. Why was this happening at a time where I should be most happy, I wanted and prayed for a child but I was not prepared, I didn’t read a single book on pregnancy. I had a couple of books but I didn’t open the pages. If I couldn’t sleep, I would be sad. if I couldn’t wear my favorite dress, I became depressed.

Read books ,gain knowledge and help out other expecting mothers. preparation can start way before the nine months journey.

Plan- Most women are very good with this, we have a theme for the room, we plan trips to have the baby in the best hospital, some of us even see that the babies names match or rhyme with older siblings. We plan on what country we like for the child to be born or raised. It’s all good, Remember we can not plan better than the master planner Himself. We can be and do better, let all your planning be within God's agenda for that child’s life. Let God lead, then just adjust your plan to fit and follow. Instead of searching a name on the internet for a child, why not ask the baby giver.

Pray- This should be the first point right, but we save the best for the last. Pray for everything and you will see changes in everything. Invest time in prayer for that child, and you will reap in good time. You will be amazed how God will answer your prayers to the tiniest detail.
